Awareness Symposium
“Give Young Carers a Break”
Announcement of the Event

Mothers Co., Ltd.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued understanding and support of our initiatives.

Our organization is committed to supporting families as a whole, particularly children and parents with mental health conditions, through our disability support programs in Nagoya and Tsu.

As part of these efforts, we are pleased to announce a symposium focusing on young carers—children and adolescents who take on caregiving responsibilities within their families.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, one in seventeen junior high school students in Japan is responsible for household chores, caregiving, and other family duties in place of an adult. The difficulties and pressures they face are immense, and above all, we believe their significant contributions must be acknowledged.

In this symposium, we will commemorate Young Carers Action Day, an initiative that started in Europe. We will feature reports from the UK, along with pioneering practices from Myanmar, other parts of Asia, and Japan. Together, we will explore this year’s theme: “Give Me a Break.”

We sincerely invite all relevant organizations and individuals to join us for this important discussion. Please find the event details below.
